Iron is an essential micronutrient for phytoplankton growth, however oceanic concentrations of iron are very low and little is understood about it's chemical cycling. In this study, we examine how scandium (which is similar to iron in size but has simpler redox chemistry) effects the uptake of macronutrients in hopes to further understand the uptake and usage of iron by marine microorganisms, and eventually better understand iron cycling in the ocean.

This research explored the roles of health-efficacy, body-esteem, and perfectionism on the eating patterns of male and female psychology major college students in Northern California, and found that college students with low body-esteem and high levels of perfectionism tended to have a higher risk for abnormal eating patterns, R2=.60, F(3,61)=11.39, p<.001. Health-efficacy and perfectionism where not found to significantly influence eating patterns, R2=.03, F(2,62)=1.10, p=.34. Body-esteem was found to be the most significant contributor to abnormal eating patterns, b*=.58, t=5.56, p<.001, suggesting body-esteem is an important factor in examining eating patterns in college students.

This article will explore the feminist self-identification of female athletes in addition to critiquing the harms and benefits of placing female athletes on a “feminist pedestal.” Ronda Rousey, a well-known athlete in mixed martial arts, will serve as a case study in the analysis.

Menstrual practices sanction how menstruators engage with public and private spaces. Informed by the sociocultural factors of menstrual health today, I conducted several ethnographic interviews to further explore how menstruators mediate their own personal needs and the demands of their community throughout menses. Finally, I will integrate these interviews within the broader discourse of Critical Menstrual Studies.

By analyzing and synthesizing findings from recent peer-reviewed studies, the project aims to clarify whether directing an athlete’s attention toward external outcomes, rather than internal body mechanics, leads to more effective sprint execution and faster start times. The goal is to provide practical insights that can inform coaching strategies and improve competitive sprint performance.

Urchins are voracious herbivores that mow down kelp forests turning them into urchin barrens. This regime shift from kelp forests to urchin barrens has led to the closer of the red abalone fishery which had an estimated value of $44 million dollars. In Mendocino CA, bull kelp has been observed persisting at the river mouths in making an interest to local and scientific communities. Urchins are known to not do well with lower salinities possibly leading to this phenomenon.
